Undeserved Guilt

April 12th, 2006

There is a large difference between feeling guilty for something you should and feeling guilty over something you shouldn’t.  The first is healthy; it shows you have a conscience, and it can be dealt with in a rational manner.  The latter is unhealthy.  There is no way to address.  If you are feeling guilty over something you shouldn’t you are screwing yourself royally, because there is nothing that will fix that guilt.

The problem is that we are bombarded all day with things we are supposed to feel guilty about.  We should feel guilty for using gas and polluting the environment.  We should feel guilty that there are people starving in the world while we have pleanty.  We should feel guilty because this and that, and it just isn’t healthy.

Just something to think about.
